Erica:
Erica is the eldest sister. We all love her dearly, but she never quite believes that the fourth son really does love her. It doesn't matter what the fourth son does, or doesn't do, Erica reads too much into it (whatever it is), so the fourth son is constantly having to reassure her. He stopped doing so about three years ago, so now the fourth son gets emails periodically that question why and how come... the emails go un-answered. Not because the fourth son doesn't love her -- he just chooses not to answer emails that ask why and how come...

Earl:
Earl is the eldest brother. He literally ran the ship. He had schedules for chores assigned to us all, and he made sure that we all lived up to our responsibilities. This endeared him to us all. He was an old soul at the tender age of eighteen. The fourth son never did see Earl cut-loose. He did take a trip down to Argentina during his high-school years, he probably cut-loose down their and kept it from the rest of us. The fourth son loves his brother Earl dearly, but tends to aggrivate him immensely! Earl sings a song titled Not in My Backyard that he tributes to the fourth son. When they were kids, Earl created a game named "Seth's Nuts" in honor of the fourth son. The fourth son loves his eldest brother dearly.
Last year Earl and his beautiful wife, Laurie, visited the Texas property of the fourth son. The siblings spent the entire night rocking on the back porch feeling the southern winds bring that continentality of warmth up from Mexico. It was simply beautiful to spend the time together. The fourth son looks forward to the next such visit.

Dion:
Dion is the gentle soul of the four sons. He is easily made sad and can cry at the simplest things. He has recently become a father for the second time in but a handful of years. Ale, his beautiful wife, is a Latin queen. Their children are simply beautiful. Though I have only met one of them, my whippersnapper assures me that the newest lumpy one is every bit as beautiful as the older one. The fourth son looks forward to that time when Dion and his entire family can spend some time at the Texas property.

Larger than life. Her greeting hits you before you enter the building. Loving sibling and mother. Rash and wonderful. First person to give me a beer - Schlits - not my beer of choice. Let me tag along to movies, shopping and hanging out. Never made me feel out of place. Keeps things real, even when looking for answers in all the wrong places. Can stop the world in its tracks with her smile.

Adam:
Adam is the intellect of the family. 21 months my elder, he has been my closest sibling throughout the years. When younger, he did not like me to tag along - it did not stop me. He and I spent time with our father in Iran during the 1979 revolution that witnessed the fall of the Shah and the establishment of an Islamic Republic. This experience brought us closer together. He tolerates me... barely. A while back he helped me move out to Texas from California - at the time he was giving up smoking, but neglected to tell me so - I have never been so close to being extinguished by a sibling in my entire life.
He and I were the two siblings that could not sit next to each other at a funeral, because we would make each other laugh... hard!

Here we come to it. The fourth son. 6 of 9. A middle child that believed himself to be the perfect child. Helped with homework by older brothers and sisters - no! Asked to throw wrestling matches with younger brother - yes! Commplied - not on your life, and made to feel bad for it. Resentful? A resounding no; rather happy to be part of this obstreperous clan. Loved by siblings - more than deserved. Love siblings - tremendously! Smart - I never feel so, though I have been told that I am.
Married to a beautiful women for many years - Julianne Noreen; and father to a wonderful child - Courtney Paige.
A teacher today by way of: paper-boy, parking-lot attendant, vending machine tech, busboy, waiter, cook, delivery driver, oxygen tech, technical writer, web manager, marketing manager, marketing director.

Doug:
Flying under the radar. Fun and always looking for a good time. I was not the kindest big brother to Doug, but as adults, we have a solid relationship. Out in Hawaii, I almost never see him anymore, but we do talk regularly over the phone. You can almost hear him hugging you during a phone conversation. I never gave Doug a break growing up, because if I ever did, he would have smashed it back at me. Doug wanted to, and ultimately did, make it on his own - no freebeeze! I hope to see him and his wife in Texas sooner rather than later.

Luvy and the fourth son get along. We worked together for years in California's Silicon Valley. The commute allotted us lots of time to get to know eachother as adults - I sometimes felt too much like a preachy older brother, but Luvy took it all in good stride. She is smart, self-educated, and beautiful. She and her husband Johnny and her two kids are world travelers. They periodically venture to warm locals in search of the perfect wave.

Juanita and the fourth son love each other, but the fourth son does not really know his little sister. What he knows of her, he likes very much. She is beautiful, she has wonderful kids, and she makes him laugh, but what her thoughts are as an adult he knows not. The fourth son doesn't remember ever doing anything with just the two of them - no movie, luch, drive... Still, when they see eachother at family gatherings, they enjoy each other's company very much.
